[Fanfiction] Pizzle Ring

Author: Ruuan
Rating: PG
Genre: fluff, romantic drama (?)
Disclaimer: I don’t own them, I just own this twisted mind.
Beta-ed: Jun.
Summary: When two persons met and bound in marriage, everything seemed different.

----

The blonde-haired man looked dazzling because of the sunlight; he moved gracefully, exposing his lovely face and pinkish lips. In addition, those eyelashes didn’t fail to make the other man’s heart even more fluttered. Thus, how he met this lovely person, his angel.

Since then, both of them were as if they had been bewitched; they had madly fallen in love and vowed to each other. The taller man promised he would protect his loved one’s gentle smile, whilst the blonde one promised he would stay faithful to the other man. Then they got married to one another.

Yes, that was what had happened a couple of months earlier. A romantic yet so common love story with a happy ending that some people would like to read.

Now, they both had become busy with their own business. They rarely ate together, chatted, or even saw each other. They had become too busy living what they called real life.

Even when they had time together such as now, their topic of conversation would only be centred on what they had to do tomorrow. Questions began to emerge in their minds, although they seemed reluctant to voice them out. What were they discussing this for? New luxurious house? The newest type of Mercedes Benz? Rolex? Diamond? There seemed to be no certain answers for all of those questions.

“Have you eaten yet?”
“Nope.”
“Let’s eat. I made dinner.”
“Thanks.”

The taller man went to the kitchen that was located not too far from the dining room, whilst the other man was busying himself with his paperwork. The taller man kept stealing glances at him as he prepared supper for them both. That shining blonde hair never succeeded to make the taller man love him less. Still, there was something missing that made his heart ache.

“Jui, do you want some sweets?”
“Ah, sure. Thanks.”

Lately, they would only ask each other some trivial questions. Whilst making apple tea and slicing the cheesecake, he kept mentally questioning himself: what made them like this?

“Jui-honey, supper’s ready. Will you stop working for a moment, please?”
“Ah, yes, wait a sec. I must finish these new lyrics for the project with Kisaki-san first.”
“You can continue after dinner, right? You must keep your body fit. The schedule is already fixed, isn’t it?”
“Ah, now that you mention it. France, huh? I think it’s gonna be great.”

The taller man smiled in silence. He could see his beloved angel’s eyes sparkling. So beautiful, yet out of reach.

“What’s up, Shun?”
“Nothing. I just miss that smile of yours.”
“Ah, gomen.”
“No, don’t be. I have no choice but to bear with it. You have dream to reach and I already have you here.”

The blonde man stared at the taller one, curiosity filling his heart. Why did he have to bring those sensitive topics up? Moreover, it should be his line. He had never seen him smile from his deepest heart.

“Please, Jui. I don’t want you to get sick. You’ve already worked so hard.”
“Um, I know. I’m happy that I have you, even though…”
“Hm?”
“Nothing. Like you said, we have to bear with it… for our own sake.”
“Don’t push yourself too hard, dear.”
“Then I guess I have to take some rest after this.”

After that, they both fell into silence. The situation was getting awkward and they both didn’t know what to do. Marriage was surely more complex than they had ever thought.

“Thanks for the meal.”

Dinner was over and the blonde man went straight away to the bedroom. He lay on the bed, face pressed onto the pillow to prevent the tears from falling. When they got married, he just wanted to love and to be loved more than ever. However, why did such happiness seem out of reach now?

In the kitchen, the taller man was washing the dishes, silently thinking of the same thing as his beloved was thinking of now in their bedroom.

~.~

The day before the departure to France…

Jui packed some piece of clothes and other daily things. He thought that he should feel happy about him going to France. With the tour he was having, he would soon reach what he had been dreaming of. A great soprano singer.

“What’s up? Want some tea?” asked his beloved, noticing Jui’s uneasiness.
“No. It’s not that.”

Jui observed the other man closely. He lingered on the taller man’s lap, making the other man feel uncomfortable. He wanted to get the answer that he had always longed to hear.

“Ne, Shun,” a tiny voice escaped from those sexy lips, “Why did we become like this?”

The taller man took a long time to respond. He was finding better words to answer Jui’s sudden question.

“I mean, I miss the way you used to talk to me, the way you used to smile,” he brushed the lips before him with his as he spoke.

“You were so lovely back then. You still are; but somehow, it’s getting different to how we used to act around each other.”
“What is it, hun? Why are you suddenly saying these things?”
“No, nothing. Just sleep. I’ll take off early tomorrow.”
“Um, sleep tight.”

He brushed the blonde hair gently, afraid to lose control. He knew exactly what the other man wanted; he wanted the same. However, this was for the happiness Jui was looking for, even though it meant that he would be excluded.

Little did he know that his gentle touch had only hurt Jui more. His mind was filled by thoughts. He thought he could explode at any time.

~.~

“Have a nice trip, Jui.”
“Why?”
“Eh?”
“Why don’t you even try to stop me from leaving?”
“. . . .”
“I’m so stupid, hoping that you’ll understand how I feel! You’ll never understand, will you?”
“Wait, what do—?”
“If it’s OK for you to see me off just like this, then I guess I can’t help it. I’m leaving.”

Jui couldn’t hold back his tears anymore. He ran through the gate, leaving everything behind. He felt so stupid for hoping that the other man would understand him and be more serious with him by marrying him. In the end, people did exist for themselves, didn’t they?

However, I won't forget even though we can never meet again
In this place, there is neither the past nor the future...so forgive me...

Entrusting myself to the wind, I flew into the sky
Without turning back, I shook away my tears

“Are you OK with that?”

The shorter man turned his head to the voice. A man with red hair stood before him. He was the executive manager of their label who was also his bassist, Kisaki.

“Kisaki-san,” he wiped his tears away.
“Are you OK leaving him like that?”
“U-um.”

He followed the former of UnderCode without a word. Until they reached their seats, the other man looked at him intensely.

“Wh-what’s wrong?”

The other kept silent, observing the younger man.

“I-it can’t be helped, right? He never thinks about my feelings; no one will ever understand me. Everybody overestimates me, I just can’t help it.”
“Are you sure?”
“Eh?”
“Are you sure that is how it will turn out? Isn’t it because you always pull yourself away from them; that’s why, they can’t understand you? You don’t let others see right through your heart. You keep lying to yourself that you’re OK; but you are really hurt deep inside. Until you can do nothing when those feelings finally pile up and eat you from the inside.”

The chibi vocalist looked up at the bassist with wide eyes. The things he just said were nothing but facts. Yes, he kept a distance to other people, yet he wanted them to understand him.

“Jui, dear. You may lie, but you cannot pretend. It’s obvious that you’re hiding from reality. Don’t run, face it!”
“Kisaki-san. . .”
“I know you. I chose you amongst the other vocalists. I saw talent in you. Is it too much to comprehend? I saw your hidden potentiality.”
“But—”
“What is it now? Why are you hesitating?”
“I am just afraid; I don’t want to be hurt.”
“You’ll just hurt yourself more, if you keep on like this. Like I said, face it! Prove to yourself and everyone you love that everything you believe isn’t a delusion.”
“But, how?”
“You already know the answer, don’t you?”

Silence fell between them. Jui was lost in his own thoughts, until they arrived in French. So many things needed to be prepared for the stage, make up, and costume.

The live went smoothly, so did the photo sessions. They explored French for the photo sessions; they found so many great buildings as the locations. They also held several interviews there. There were so many Kisaki’s fans in France, actually.

Jui had been so distracted recently, though. Somehow, he often lost in his mind. He even got stuck between the doors that would spin around when you walked through them; he ended up entering back in, instead of going outside. It embarrassed him a little that he couldn’t help but laugh.

However, the lives had always run smoothly. Although Jui couldn’t seem to reach the falsetto completely, the fans kept cheering him and the band up. He felt loved, but still it wasn’t the kind of love that he wanted. He felt like going back to Japan as soon as possible. He wanted to meet the person he loved.

At the after party, Jui decided to talk to Kisaki in person. He had made up his mind. He loved the stage, the fans’ cheers, but he was still missing something. Something that was very important that he had almost forgotten.

“Kisaki-san, err. . .”
“Hm? Do you have the answer, sweetie?”

The blonde man gave a big smile to the man before him. He felt that he owed him a lot. Kisaki couldn’t help but smile back at him.

“Just remember, you owe me. You have to pay properly. Stay with me on my project until your graduation, OK?”
“Thanks a bunch! I will do my best on the project and my own band.”
“So, you have your resolution, then. Give your demo tape after you meet the other members, ne?”
“Eh?”
“There is no ‘eh?’, baka!” he said cunningly, “You already have some people in mind, don’t you? So, why don’t make it come true?”
“Um!”

Then, Jui came back to Tokyo to meet his best friends. He gathered all of them to discuss everything: the band concept, name, music, and what kind of song for the demo single they would play. He got so excited about the project. Therefore, he managed to call them for each position needed.

“Baka! What took you so long?” asked Tero after Jui explained his project, their new band.
“Well, this is Jui we are talking about, after all. So, is everyone here yet?” Rame teased him.
“Wh-what? What’s that supposed to mean?”

No answer. They just guffawed together. They were all childhood friends and Jui knew they got the talents, so it had been decided then. Jui on vocal, Rame on bass, Tero on drum. That meant that they only needed a guitarist or two.

“So? Any person who might fit in the remaining position?”
“Guitarist? I don’t know. Do you?” Jui looked puzzled.
“Ah, I have an acquaintance! He is good. His guitar playing is awesome, so is his personality.”
“Who is it? Your lover?” Rame teased Tero.
“What? No! So, how many guitarists do we need?”
“Erm, actually. . . .”

Suddenly, Jui’s mobile phone rang. He picked it up, staring curiously at the caller ID. Shun’s name flashed on the screen and then he answered the call.

“Hello? Jui?”
“Um,”
“I guess you’ve returned to Japan now that I can reach your phone.”
“Yep.”
“Err… planning to come home any time soon?”
“As soon as I’m finished with my jobs.”
“OK, then. But I’m afraid I’ll be home late tonight. Have you eaten dinner yet?”
“I brought the spare key, remember? Dinner? I’m having it right now. Why do you seem in a rush?”
“Ah, about that, I’ll explain to you later. Crap! Sorry. I’m really late. Jya!”

Huh? Why did Shun sound so hurry? The Shun that he knew was calm and lovely; well, in some situations he could get so excited too. That thought made Jui smile.

“So? You didn’t go straight home?” Rame interrogated him.
“Well, I didn’t want to delay our project any longer.”
“Ah~ Jui. Sometimes, you give too much effort, you know?” protested Tero.
“It’s Jui, after all. By the way, was that your lover who called you earlier? Tell me.”
“Eh?”
“Don’t be like that, just tell me.”
“We actually. . . .”

Now, Tero’s phone rang. The red haired man seemed so excited in receiving the phone call. It might be the acquaintance he had mentioned earlier.

“Yes? Ah, you’ve come! Good, I’ll introduce you to the other members. Aha, yep. You just need to ask the waiter to guide you to the meeting room we’re currently using. Yes. See ya!”

He hung up. The other two looked tense. If the person who just called Tero were really the one they were waiting for, it would be so great. They could start everything as soon as possible.

“One of our guitarist, he will join us soon,” he explained.
“Perfect. So, where were we? Ah, Jui’s lover! How’s the story?” Rame was still trying to dig more information from Jui.

The door behind Jui opened. They all fell into silence. The three of them looked in curiosity, except Rame who seemed really annoyed now. A man with long black hair stood in front of them. He looked a bit nervous, but he got the aura. Most importantly, he looked almost like Tero in a way.

“Sorry. I’m so late,”
“No prob,” Rame got annoyed, “I was having a serious talk with Jui, though. Can everybody please stop interrupting me?! So, Jui. Who is this person? How does this person look like?”
“Rame, at least you should have asked him to sit!”
“Hi. How was the traffic? Is it fine?”
“It is. Ah, by the way, I’m Giru.”
“This is Jui on vocal and Rame on bass,” Tero explained.

It was not like Rame at all; he was usually polite and mother-like. Still, he was not the one to blame. When he had something that interested him, he would be so drowned into it. After the short introduction, Jui couldn’t resist Rame’s demand. He had no choice but to spill out about his love life, or else. . . .

“Err… OK. I’m not quite sure. He looks like an angel with dark hair, sweet scent, and most importantly he is so kind.”
“So, the person is a ‘he’. Interesting,” Tero commented.
“So?”
“We got married, but something―”

GRAK!
The door opened once again, making Jui stopped talking. They all turned their heads to see who had opened the door. A man with black hair stood on the doorway, he panted heavily as if he had just run from somewhere far right to this place.

“Well, with this all the members are gathered, then!”
“Cheers!”

They all started celebrating their new band formation, safe for Jui who was still frozen. He wondered why it should happen. Why would they meet in such a situation? He had planned to tell him everything about his project when it was all set; to tell him personally as a surprise. However, what was he doing here?

“Jui?”
“Wh-what are you doing here?” asked Jui in surprise, voicing out his thought.
“What’s wrong?” interrupted Rame, “He will be our second guitarist. Do you mind?”
“Do you know him, Jui?”

Both men were still stunned. Jui’s eyes were still on the taller man who stood on the doorway. He blinked, confused about what was going on with himself. He didn’t know how to react or what to say.

“Shun, why are you still standing there? Come on in and sit down, please,” Rame spoke, making the taller man enter the meeting room whilst being stared by the others at the same time.
“So, all of us here are the members?” the taller man asked awkwardly.

With teary eyes, Jui suddenly ran and hugged the taller man, making them almost fall onto the floor. The other man was shocked by the sudden action. However, he managed to steady himself. He embraced the shorter man with his left hand and patted his back with the right one.

“Shun~ so sorry. I’m really stupid. I should be the one who asked you to join us, but. . . but. . .” Jui sobbed, “I should’ve. . .”
“I know, I know, Jui. Please, stop crying. Everybody’s watching.”
“Forgive me,” Jui continued with a hoarse voice, “It’s so great having you in our band.”
“Stupid. It is my pleasure to be able to perform with you again, babe.”

Shun patted Jui’s hair and kissed it. Everybody was indeed watching, but that didn’t bother them at all. They would reach their own happiness on the same stage with their loved ones.
